Nature-inclusive area development
How do we increase biodiversity in our cities?
We want to make our cities ever greener, but what is the best way? That is what Aeres University of Applied Sciences is investigating together with us, Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences and Avans University of Applied Sciences. Nature-inclusive area development is a broad concept. That is the development of urban areas in which nature is given space and building materials from nature are used. With our research, we test the user experience of biobased solutions with exploratory neuroarchitectural methods. We are also developing a governance strategy together with Aeres to better encourage nature-inclusive solutions in area development.

In addition to the AUAS, Aeres Hogeschool (lead party), Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein, Hogeschool van Amsterdam and Hogeschool Avans are closely involved in the research in collaboration with the Center of Expertise Green. The professional field is also widely represented, with both local and regional governments, design agencies, knowledge institutes, housing corporations and project developers.
